150th birthday of Gustav Mahler
For composing the artist needed the inspiration and peace of nature. As the ideal place for his work he chose Klagenfurt am Wörthersee, more precisely Maiernigg, where his Composing House can still be visited. In the summers between 1900 and 1907 he created some of his masterpieces here:

“MAHLER Contemporary”
From 9th-18th July The “Musikforum” is going to honour the artist with a festival of his music. It will be a crossover festival, combining some elements of jazz with classical music, dance, video performance and the visual arts.
